On Friday, July 16, 2021 from 1-2 pm at the Valdez Museum on Egan, Charlotte Henson, NPS Interpretive Ranger for the Park, is presenting a History Talk & Gallery Walk titled DYNAMITE AND SNUS: Story of the Copper River and Northwestern Railway. Henson has worked extensively in Kennecott and comes with a great deal of knowledge and history of the area.
The hour-long presentation will be a mix of slides from the railway titled, Can’t Run and Never Will, a regular evening program Henson presents in Kennecott, along with a gallery tour of the Museum’s current art exhibit, Mountain Treasures: Kennecott, Alaska & Iceberg Lake, Art by Karl Becker. She is familiar with his work, and will link her talk with Becker’s stunning series of watercolor paintings of the area.
