Valdez Museum Returns to Winter Hours

Valdez, Alaska, September 13, 2022 – Shorter days and colder nights usher in the fall season, while the Board and Staff of the Valdez Museum & Historical Archive take a long breath after our busy summer season which saw both museum locations open daily to welcome in visitors from around the world. Winter hours are in now effect:

Valdez Museum on Egan Drive

Open Noon – 5 pm

Tuesday – Saturday

Closed Sunday & Monday

Valdez Museum on Hazelet Avenue

Open by Appointment Only

Currently in the Egan Commons of the Valdez Museum on Egan Drive is the exhibit, Sacred Waters, by Anchorage artist Kevin Crowley. It’s an eclectic mix of woodblock prints, prints on fabric and printed prayer flags that explore the marine wildlife in Prince William Sound. Crowley’s exhibit will be on display through Sunday, October 9, 2022.

Winter hours remain in effect until early May, 2023 when the busy summer season rolls around again! But there is plenty of action to enjoy at the Valdez Museum during the fall and winter months—new exhibits in our temporary gallery, Old Town Walking Tours through October, art workshops, monthly Tuesday Nite History Talks plus an assortment of other programs for folks of all ages. The Museum Store with its assortment of books, toys, jewelry, tasty treats and local craft items will be accessible to visitors during open hours.
