Powell, Trailing. p. 54; Abercrombie calls Packer Lynch (formerly of Troop B, Second Cavalry), shoed Abercrombie’s pack train, Glenn and Abercrombie, p. 567; Had to kill injured horse, Brown in Glenn and Abercrombie, p. 623; p. 304; Mac and Sam [Lynch] collected Abercrombie’s horses at camp at head of lake for moving them by boat [?] to mouth of Lake Klutina, MB-D, 8/15/98; caught 50 trout at an old beaver dam near Copper River, Abercrombie’s party had a good trout dinner, MB-D, 8/22/98; Capt. Abercrombie, Lynch and Powell left for Mentasta Lake area, MB-D, 8/23/98; Lynch returns to Copper River Camp requisitioning “1 more horse, 1 sack flour and some biscuits. I [Bjornstad] baked 240 biscuits to send with hi. Capt. intends to stay away longer than intended at first. We will probably not see him for a month. Schrader is going to take charge when he comes.” MB-D, 8/24/98; Capt.
