It was over 20 years ago that the World Extreme Skiing Championships (WESC), built solely on guts and vision, carved a path through the world of winter athletics, changing the face of skiing forever!

Through its incredible 10-year run, WESC helped to popularize extreme sports, blazed trails through the Chugach backcountry and raised the potential for growth in the winter economy of Valdez.

Visitors to the exhibit will see highlights from the Museum’s WESC Collection, plus hear the incredible stories of WESC as told by those who conceived of it, and were there on the mountains!
