Some workshops at the museum dovetail with changing exhibits, many with an art focus. Exhibiting Valdez jewelry makers demonstrate metal working and hot glass lampworking. Local printmakers teach wood block printing. Textile and birding workshops are on the horizon.
“Collections Care” workshops taught by museum curators, demonstrate how to preserve participants’ family histories—comprised of photographs, letters and documents—for generations to come. The museum often sells materials that support this effort in the store. Check here to learn about future workshops.
