Local Artists in the Spotlight

Local Artists in the Spotlight

Valdez, Alaska, January 12, 2021: The Valdez Museum is pleased to announce its first exhibit for the New Year, Art On Your Own, Community Art Show, now on display in the Egan Commons. This exhibit opened on January 8, 2021 and it runs through March 7, 2021. The show features work by local artists who use a wide variety of mediums to share their talents with museum visitors in a formal gallery setting.

Artwork by adults, teens and children explore the versatility of materials that provide them with inspiration: acrylics, watercolors, colored pencils, crayons, cross stitching, ceramics, sterling silver, leather and beads. The exhibit also features a chain saw sculpture carved out of wood.

All community members are invited to come in and view our new exhibit as the Valdez Museum continues to ensure a safe, healthy and enriching environment for visitors. We are happy to showcase these independently-produced creations by Valdez’s impressively talented artists.

Exhibit sponsored in part by Copper Valley Electric Association Community Foundation, National Endowment for the Arts and Alaska State Council on the Arts.
