Guiteau meets, describes, Guiteau Diary, June 14, 1898; home near Klutina, MB-D, 9/24/98; Babcock orders Quartermaster to issue him one campaign hat and one overcoat, inf. made (note: probably for helping to bring sick into Valdez); Tenas Charlie and John of Stickman tribe given blouse, drawers, blanket, wool, overcoat for “having assisted in bringing into Valdes some of the sick and helpless miners, over the Glacier, the Subsistence Department will furnish the Expedition mess rations for their subsistence during their stay at this place.” Orders, 5/2/99, Office of Secr. of War Dept. 1667-70, NARA RG 107, Entry 80;
