Summer Hours Start May 8, 2022

Valdez, Alaska, April 28, 2022 – There is an exciting summer season ahead for the Valdez Museum! Cruise ships are returning to town with visitors from around the country and the world traveling to Valdez by land and sea. In addition, after being closed for the past two summers, the Valdez Museum on Hazelet Street is re-opening for the summer season.

Visiting hours for both locations are 9 am – 5 pm daily starting Sunday, May 8, 2022.

The Valdez Museum will again be part of the Blue Star Museums program which offers free admission for all active-duty military personnel and their families during the summer months. It starts on Armed Forces Day, May 21, 2022 and ends on Labor Day, September 5, 2022.

Our summer art exhibit, Sacred Waters, by Kevin Crowley is on display at the Valdez Museum on Egan Drive from May 13 – September 18, 2022. The Valdez Museum on Hazelet Street features the Remembering Old Valdez Exhibit, a 1:20 scale model of pre-Earthquake Old Town Valdez, plus a statewide Earthquake Information Kiosk.

We invite you to bring along your family and friends for an entertaining and educational visit to the Valdez Museum this spring and summer!
