According to some, “Even Mother Nature has favorites,” and Valdez, Alaska, is one of them. Its remarkable history and magnificent landscape encourage visitors and locals to get outside, explore and learn. Guides identify the wild array of flora and fauna habituating one of Alaska’s most beautiful places on nature walks. During history tours, hikers discover remnants of the original town site and evidence of the relocation of Old Town to “new” Valdez after the devastating “1964 Good Friday Earthquake.”

The museum offers guided “Historic Homes of Old Valdez,” and “Old Town” walking tours in warmer months and regional GPS tours throughout the year. Check here to join us on our next outing.
