At the Museum

A varied pattern of activities weave together to form a vibrant educational program and appeal to a wide array of learners who visit the museum. Scholars lecture on different topics, students participate in field trips, artists teach workshops, and educators design summer camp activities for both indoors and out.

Educational hands-on components play up permanent exhibits. Traveling heritage kits on loan to the museum enhance visitors’ understanding of Native tradition and practice.

The museum collaborates with the Valdez community on annual events including the Christmas tree lighting ceremony, 4th of July Festival and Valdez Gold Rush Days.
