VMHA Earns City of Valdez COVID-Conscious Business Rating

Valdez, Alaska, August 17, 2020 – The Valdez Museum & Historical Archive welcomes congratulations from the City of Valdez in earning the Valdez COVID Conscious Business designation. The Program recognizes local businesses and organizations for following recommended COVID-19 safety practices to protect their workforce, their customers/clients/guests, and our community. Program applicants must earn a minimum of 85 points from a list of COVID-19 education, planning, and prevention efforts to earn the certification.

Museum staff worked together as a team to complete the application process, guided by Faith Revell, Curator of Education & Public Programs. She served as the Museum’s “COVID Conscious Coordinator” making sure all the requirements were met.

The VMHA Board of Directors approved an extensive Covid Mitigation Plan prior to the Museum reopening on July 1, 2020. This solid platform of health and safety protocols was in already in operation and guided the museum team throughout the City’s certification process.

The Valdez Museum is proud to join the growing list of Valdez COVID-Conscious Businesses as we all work together in the effort to keep our community safe and healthy!
