Field Trips

Field Trips

Valdez public and private school teachers, Valdez homeschoolers and rural teachers may plan a field trip to the museum. Some field trips combine a museum visit, and access to remarkable artifacts and original works of art with a walking tour. Others integrate hands-on activities including art-making and writing.

Field trips dovetail with Alaskan standards and include these themes:

  • Native culture
  • Exploration
  • Gold Rush
  • Old Town
  • Earthquakes and Tsunamis
  • Geography and Natural History
  • Alaskan Art
  • Mining
  • Transportation and road building
