Working in egg tempera on wood panel and large acrylic paintings, Anderson’s work explores the theme of wild rivers in Alaska. His technique is evocative of both pointillism and indigenous Australian artwork, using contrasting dots of color and curvilinear forms to give shape to familiar elements of the Alaskan landscape. Inspired by waterways such as the Lowe River, Kenai River, Copper River Delta and others, Anderson’s “dot painting” creates form from bright colors and the patterns they create.

Exhibit is sponsored in part by Copper Valley Electric Community FoundationNational Endowment for the Arts and the Alaska State Council on the Arts.
