Please join us for the Valdez Museum’s 16th Annual Roadhouse Dinner and Auction, to be held October 14, 2017. The event promises to be our grandest fundraiser yet and includes a delightful evening with sit-down dinner, entertainment, silent and live auction, grand prize drawing and more! The funds raised at this event will be used to support mission driven educational programs, exhibits and presentations.
Each year we celebrate a particular historical era. This year we celebrating the 50 year anniversary of “New Town” Valdez. With the destruction of the original town site in 1964, caused by the Good Friday Earthquake, the community of Valdez relocated to safer ground in 1967, with the theme “Relocation Roadhouse” Celebrating 50 Years of New Valdez. In recognition of the community coming together, we are honoring the City Councils and Planning Commissioners from 1964 to 1967 who were instrumental in New Valdez Development. On behalf of the Councils and Commissioners during this time, Mayor Ruth Knight will be accepting the honor.
