The Copper River Valley. . .The Valdez News, 1:1. 3/06/01; Allis led party up Copper River to Bremner in 1898; purchased from Chief Nicolai copper bornite ore; carried to States and organized the Chittyna Company; 1899 Allis not able to return, sends McClellan to meet Peterson and find Nicolai's source. 1901: Spent several weeks winter of 1900-1901 with Millard and Warner "introducing the Copper River Country to the moneyed men" back east.
