Host a Mixer or Reception at the Valdez Museum: The comfortable, intimate atmosphere of the Valdez Museum makes it a perfect place to hold an opening reception or mixer. Exhibits such as the beautifully restored 1907 Ahrens Steam Fire Engine and our gold rush exhibit promote conversation among visitors as they stop to examine fine craftsmanship and discuss black-and-white photographs depicting early Valdez. Caterers may set up a real bar and snacks behind our turn-of-the-century Pinzon Bar.
Cost: $100 or $150 (See Facility Rentals Application for Details)
Organize a special tour of the Valdez Museum and the Remembering Old Valdez Exhibit for a group of delegates or spouses and guests: Conference organizers may work with Museum staff to arrange a special presentation or guided tour at one or both of our facilities. The Valdez Museum's exhibits are a chronology of our community's past that starts with exploration and discovery and conducts visitors through modern industry and life. The Remembering Old Valdez exhibit, with a model of Old Town Valdez, focuses visitors on the period of time surrounding the 1964 Alaska Earthquake.
Cost: Varies with tour
Purchase passes to the Valdez Museum to include in delegate packets: Passes may be purchased so that delegates can visit the museum during their breaks or before and after the conference. Passes allow delegates to enjoy the Museum at their own pace.
Cost: $4.95/pass for 10 or more passes |
