Teacher Resources

Three ways  to plan lessons:

  1. The teacher has an idea:
The classroom teacher sees a way to incorporate local history into a lesson and contacts the museum for assistance in its development and implementation.
  2. The curator has an idea:
The education curator has an idea that may fit into a particular subject area at a given level. The curator approaches the teacher with the idea.
  3. The teacher selects prepared lessons from the museum's Scope & Sequence:
The teacher refers to the museum's Scope & Sequence chart and contacts the curator for materials and assistance.

Scope & Sequence

  • The Scope and Sequence chart shows lessons specific to grade levels and subject areas. These presentations are available for immediate use.
  • Detailed descriptions of its contents are available by clicking on "Presentation Descriptions" above.
  • A copy of the Education Scope and Sequence of the Valdez Museum is available for viewing or downloading below.
